How raffles and our charity partner programme is a force for good

How an online raffle for charity can help people?
Lotteries and raffles are somewhat synonymous with charitable giving. This link in the public psyche all began with John Major’s government when, in 1994, the National Lottery was formed.
A key purpose was to help generate more revenue for causes that desperately needed funds while also giving people the opportunity to win a life-changing sum of money.
Or, as we at Raffle House would say: Dream big. Do good. In fact, according to The National Lottery Community Fund, over £600m a year is distributed to communities across the UK, raised by players of The National Lottery alone.
Today, according to the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) the UK is the third most charitable nation globally, behind only Indonesia & Myanmar.
How does a charity raffle online work?
It is not mandatory to donate to charities when operating an online raffle, and so there is no specific guidance on which cause to support and how best to do so.
However, a prize competition platform can decide that this is an integral part of their raison d’être and will seek to establish charity partnerships with a mutual goal of raising funds for their specific cause. While there is no specific guidance, businesses who operate online raffles and wish to donate to charity can use guidance from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and The Charity Commission to help them choose a charity partner.
The combination of an engaged audience and life changing prizes that, by entering, also help to change the lives of others can be very impactful, and is a bit of a win-win scenario for all. So, whether you want to help young people in need of support or help abandoned animals find new homes, with our online raffle, we can help you give back.

How an online raffle for charity can lead to change you care about
At Raffle House, we embrace this mentality, and all online charity raffle ticket purchases come with the option of making a donation to one of our charity partners. We also like to go a step further and give you the choice of which charity to donate to.
We strive to give as much choice as possible and always want to onboard new charities, especially less well-known organisations that may have much less exposure but do vital work with limited resources.
Check out two of our current amazing charity partners War Paws who help the forgotten animals of war & Pipal Tree who improve access to schools and skill sharing for women and girls in Nepal, both of which benefit from the donations from our "online charity raffles".
Freedom of choice
What’s more, we don’t just limit the choice to which charity you support when entering a competition. With all our prizes we give you the freedom to take the prize itself or the cash alternative. It’s up to you…
This means that if you win, you have the opportunity to donate even more to a charity of your choice, including Cancer Research UK, the Bowelbabe Fund, and Prostate Cancer UK.
