Meet Raffi, one of the youngest trainee autism assistance dogs at UK-based charity Dogs For Autism. Born on 25 October 2025, this very cute male Cocker Spaniel is the ideal breed and temperament for the charity that exclusively provides autism assistance dogs, at no cost, to autistic people of any age, anywhere in the UK.
Raffi, as a young puppy, is already overachieving. Not only has he been earmarked for the vital role to empower someone with neurodevelopmental hurdles to achieve their goals, and enhance their emotional and physical wellbeing, but also has already starred in a shoot day at this beautiful home in the very desirable county of Dorset.
At Raffle House, we organised the shoot as part of our latest dream home prize competition that offered up a stunning multi-million-pound homes to win. Entrants get the chance to ‘Win Big and Give to Charity’ with every ticket purchased. To the our surprise, Hillary Armour, the CEO of Dogs For Autism, shared that they had named their latest puppy, Raffi, atter Raffle House in recognition of the deepening relationship between the two organisations. People, prizes and charities

From the beginning, our mission at Raffle House was to provide excitement with personal and charitable aspirational change. A for-profit social enterprise, the Company mantra has always been to dream big and do good at the same time, linking every ticket purchase with a set donation to charity. In the early years, given the business offers the chance to win exceptional homes across the UK, it seemed fitting to tie all donations to homelessness charities. Over time, the realisation emerged that giving customers a choice of charity to support a cause that was personal to them would make entering even more worthwhile. Ever since, the roster of charities to donate to has grown from a handful to over 20.
The donation itself is automatically accounted for; all that a customer needs to do is, at Checkout, choose and check their preferred charity. Given the number of charity partnerships we have, there is something there for everyone, be that Animals, Children & Support (such as conflict), or Health & Wellbeing related.
Over the course of its history, the Company has donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to these and many other causes thanks to the continued and growing support of the Raffle House community.
In choosing the right charities for the platform we have positioned ourselves as the champion of the smaller to medium size organisations to maximise the impact per pound spent rather than have a chunk swallowed up by a corporate machine.
The donation amount per ticket purchased also increased to 10% net of costs in 2023, and all donations are calculated and paid once the financial year has ended and the books have been finalised. Needless to say, the charities are hugely grateful for the support, with a few of this year’s quotes as follows:
Ira Moss, CEO and co-founder of All Dogs Matter, said: "We are extremely grateful for this donation and excited about the possibilities for the potential of this partnership going forward now we've seen how quickly players have aligned with our cause.”
Similarly, Daniel Reyland, the Chair of Trustees at Felix Fund expressed gratitude for the work we’ve done at Raffle House: “We are extremely grateful to Raffle House and its players for the recent donation to Felix Fund. This money will go directly towards supporting the mental health and wellbeing of bomb disposal experts and their families, providing vital grants, welfare support and mental resilience training.”
Finally, Laura McCreadie, the Fundraising Manager at Dogs for Autism said: “Every penny raised helps us towards our goal of transforming the lives of families affected by autism and we are so grateful for the support from Raffle House players so far. The difference our dogs make is life-changing and it’s thanks to the kindness of people who choose our charity that makes this possible. Raffle House’s donation will help us to continue to train and support the amazing dogs we work with, who have a profound impact on their partners. As a small charity, we can only financially afford to begin training of five or six new dogs each year. Yet the demand is huge – when we last opened up applications, we had more than 700 people express interest in applying for an assistance dog over a two-week period. Every additional dog we’re able to train means another family we’re able to help.”

Confidence and certainty through regulation

Businesses that carry out a fund-raising function as part of their everyday operations must also make themselves known to the independent regulator of charitable fundraising in the UK, the Fundraising Regulator. It is their job to protect consumers by improving fundraising standards while building public trust. On an annual basis Raffle House must re-register the business with the regulator to continue to provide the services of what is known as a ‘non-charity’ fundraiser. More details can be found here. Registration and regulatory oversight go beyond serving as a customer-facing kitemark. They also give prospective charity partners confidence that Raffle House is a bona fide, well-governed operator through which to raise funds.

How do we select our charities

You only have to step foot in one of the big cities in the UK to see the huge diversity, individual and cultural, of our nation. It will come as no surprise then that we all have differing tastes, preferences, priorities and aspirations, and while the idea of winning a multi-million-pound prize has broad appeal, understandably members the Raffle House community are motivated to enter a competition for reasons unique to them. The clearest example of this is in the opportunity to pick and choose which charity to support from the current partner list of 20+. From Trustpilot reviews to winner’s reactions, when asked which charity they chose to support and why, there is almost always a personal story behind the choice. As Raffle House has grown, we have looked to develop partnerships with a wide array of charities to make the donation more meaningful for each person. As it happens, over the last 12 months several of the charities that the

The partnership is light touch and effective

For those charities that Raffle House does partner with, our aim is to make it a light touch and straightforward relationship. Given their size and resources there is a recognition that charities have limited time to do both the critical fund raising necessary to finance the delivery of their mission. That is why the fund-raising process created has a small set-up period managed by us, with no day-to-day management required by the charity itself – generating a true ‘passive income’ that they can expect on an annual basis.

Closing remarks

As children we were taught it’s not just the winning but taking part that counts. Prize competitions do not have to donate a portion of their revenue to charity by law, however, Raffle House, with the help of its community, does ensure that being part of something, no matter how much you want to win, can be meaningful in other ways. All our charity partners are hugely grateful to all those that enter the competitions as each ticket purchased brings much needed funding for their work. In a world where government and corporate purse strings are tightening despite the growing needs of individuals, this activity and connection provides a vital source of support to help make a difference.
